Truro City boss unhappy over 4-2 Billericay Town defeat
Truro City boss Lee Hodges was left disappointed after a 4-2 loss to 10-man Billericay Town left his side 17 points off Blue Square Bet South safety.
Billericay striker Jay May got all four goals for his side, who despite having a man sent off, still secured the win.
"We didn't really turn up," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"It was very disappointing, it was a day that we were all looking forward to and looking to get three points on the board," Hodges added.
May gave the visitors the lead after five minutes before having his strike partner Charlie Taylor sent off.
But the front-man doubled Town's lead three minutes after half time.
City moved to three at the back and Martin Watts' free-kick gave the home side hope on 55 minutes, but May struck twice more before Kieffer Moore got one back with 11 minutes left.
"When we conceded the second goal, I just felt that we still had opportunities to go on and win the game," said Hodges.
"But the third goal was a killer and from there you're chasing the game and leaving it wide open at the back.
"Us three at the back couldn't handle their number nine on his own.
"There were three of us at the back and we should be able to deal with him, but we couldn't, he was a handful."
