Resilient Hammers encourage Allardyce

Sam Allardyce is encouraged by West Ham's "resilient" performance after they are narrowly beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Robin van Persie scored the fastest Premier League goal this season to give the home side the lead after 30 seconds, and Allardyce says the strike took a "massive deflection".

The Hammers boss admits he "feels sorry" for his players as they put in a "great effort".
