Lincoln City look to take good form into the FA Cup

David Holdsworth

Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth has hinted he will keep faith with the team that impressed in the 4-2 win over Wrexham when they begin their FA Cup journey on Saturday.

Holdsworth, whose side host FC Halifax Town in the fourth qualifying round, told BBC Lincolnshire: "It would be very difficult to leave anybody out.

"It was a fantastic performance."

The Imps climbed out of the Blues Square Bet Premier relegation zone following their victory in Wales.

And Holdsworth is hoping for the reward of a tie against Football League opposition if they overcome Halifax and make it three games unbeaten.

"It's is a fantastic competition and the opportunity to go further would be great," he said.

"Getting a high-profile club [if Lincoln can progress] would be great financially.

"Every non-league club dreams about coming up against high-profile opposition. The FA Cup is where dreams are made."
