Midfielder Ciaran Gargan has returned to Donegal Celtic after a spell with Irish Premiership rivals Crusaders.

The 26-year-old made a big impression as an attacking force at DC before moving to the Seaview club for the 2010/11 campaign.

Gargan played as a substitute when the Crues won the All-Ireland Setanta Cup competition by beating Derry City on penalties at the Oval.

Celtic have also signed keeper John Connolly on loan from Cliftonville.

"We have John until Jaunary at least," said DC manager Stephen Small.

"We needed an experienced keeper, someone who would provide competition for Niall Murphy, and John fits the bill."
