Nuneaton 3-1 AFC Telford

Nuneaton scored twice after the break to seal victory against AFC Telford in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Adam Walker's powerful close-range effort put the home side ahead, before Nathan Rooney equalised from the spot after Ben McNamara felled Steve Jones.

But James Armson's penalty restored Nuneaton's lead after Ryan Valentine had fouled Walker.

Andy Brown made sure of the three points with a 12-yard volley three minutes from time.

Telford manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"We probably got what we deserved. Too many players had an off night and this is a tough league, so when that happens you'll get beaten wherever you go.

"We don't like it. Nuneaton were better than us tonight but, after our good start, maybe that's the wake-up call the players needed.

"But there's no major drama. They've done great so far this season and we digest what's happened and go again on Saturday."
