Injured defender Daniel Majstorovic says his preference would be to stay at Celtic beyond the summer.

The 34-year-old is out of contract in June and is currently recovering from cruciate ligament damage.

"There will be a time when we need to talk about it," said the Swede. "There will be a point where we see what's going to happen.

"I am still so motivated and hungry so the priority is to have a good rehab now. I will take it step by step now."

A training ground accident ended Majstorovic's season and his hopes of playing at Euro 2012.

But is confident of making a full recovery from his injury.

"It is getting a lot better, the medical staff are very happy and I'm happy," he said.

"If everything goes well and I progress as I am now, I think I might start to run in eight to 10 weeks.

"I am not worried. I know my fitness and I know there is so much more that I want achieve."
