Derry City have signed teenage winger Brian McGrory on a one-year contract from Wolves.

McGrory hopes that the move will resurrect his career after an injury hampered his opportunities at Wolves.

"I know Derry want to push for the title and their style of play will suit me - it is the best option for me and a good place to further learn my trade.

"I'm looking forward to playing League of Ireland football, although it'll be maybe six weeks until I'm fully fit."

The former gaelic footballer added that he would like to return to full-time football in England at some stage.

"I know a lot of young players have gone on to play professional football after playing for Derry," said the 19-year-old.
