Alloa 3-1 Peterhead

Scottish Football League

Alloa moved further clear at the top of Division Three courtesy of a comfortable victory over Peterhead.

A confident Athletic side took the lead in the 13th minute when Graeme Holmes found Ben Gordon, who produced a neat finish.

The visitors impressed thereafter, though, and levelled things up 10 minutes before half-time through Rory McAllister's sensational 30-yard strike.

However, Mark Docherty put the hosts back in front a minute later with an impressive finish.

Any hopes Peterhead had of restoring parity once more all but evaporated midway through the second period as the hosts grabbed another.

Steven Masterton sent in a well-directed corner, allowing Stephen May to strike to seal the win.
