Brooking wants Brit to replace Capello

Sir Trevor Brooking says it would be "perfect" for a British manager to take over from England boss Fabio Capello.

Brooking, who also admits there is an outside chance Capello could stay on beyond Euro 2012, says that he expects England to have a tough route to the knockout stages next summer regardless of which teams they are placed with in Friday's draw.

Brooking, the Football Association's Director of Football Development, adds that the FA's £200m four-year investment in grassroots football hopes to raise standards and behaviour amongst spectators and players.
