Hull City 2-3 Burnley

A last-gasp goal from Jay Rodriguez earned Burnley a dramatic win against Hull as they fought back from 2-0 down.

A brace from Matt Fryatt had given the home side the lead, his first a tap-in from close range before he fired high past Lee Grant.

David Edgar pulled a goal back with 12 minutes left, heading home a right-wing cross for his first of the afternoon.

He then levelled things up four minutes later before Rodriguez secured victory with a composed finish in injury time.

It all seemed to be going so well for Hull caretaker manager Nick Barmby in his first home game in charge, with Burnley's performance before their goals described by Eddie Howe as the worst since he took over.

The Tigers needed just 11 minutes to get on the scoresheet, Fryatt tapping home from close range after Lee Grant parried a shot by Cameron Stewart.

Burnley were almost back level just after the break but Peter Gulacsi tipped a volley from Rodriguez onto the bar.

Fryatt then doubled his side's lead shortly after with a powerful right-footed effort.

Burnley sprung to life with 12 minutes to go when Edgar netted twice in four minutes, his first a header before he stabbed the ball home from close range.

With time ebbing away, Rodriguez took advantage of hesitant Hull defending to complete the comeback with a low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Hull City caretaker manager Nick Barmby told BBC Radio Humberside:

Barmby blames lack of Hull composure

"They sniffed a little bit of fear in us and they obviously capitalised on it.

"Our shape was all over the place in the last 10 to 15 minutes and we paid the price for it.

"You don't get carried away when you win and you don't get carried away when you lose, but it's frustrating."
