Michael Appleton eyes new horizons at Pompey

New Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton believes he can implement changes on and off the pitch to help the club on the journey back towards the Premier League.

The former Manchester United midfielder was something of a surprise choice to replace Steve Cotterill at Fratton Park.

However Appleton is confident that a decade on the coaching staff at West Brom, where he was recently assistant to Roy Hodgson, gives him an insight into the blueprint to building success at a club like Portsmouth.
