Blackpool 1-2 Nott'm Forest

Radoslaw Majewski's second-half strike earned Nottingham Forest victory over Blackpool and gave Steve Cotterill his second win in two games as Reds boss.

Polish midfielder Majewski rammed home the winner on the half-volley after the hosts failed to deal with a long throw.

Wes Morgan had headed Forest ahead but Blackpool levelled when Kevin Phillips fired home from 25 yards.

Majewski restored the lead and Forest held on despite having Guy Moussi sent off late on for two cautions.

Cotterill proud of battling Forest

Moussi's dismissal ensured a nervy final eight minutes for Cotterill, who had masterminded a midweek win over previously unbeaten Middlesbrough.

But Forest were good value for their three points in an entertaining game.

The visitors started impressively and enjoyed the majority of the possession but chances were at a premium early on.

Luke Chambers headed the first noteworthy opportunity over from a dangerous Lewis McGugan free-kick and the centre-half then volleyed narrowly wide.

Visiting chances then became increasingly frequent as Ishmael Miller saw his deflected effort saved by home goalkeeper Matt Gilks.

And Forest deservedly took the lead when McGugan crossed after his corner was cleared and Morgan rose to head in.

The goal seemed to awaken the Tangerines and Phillips made it 1-1 at the interval with a fine strike that beat Lee Camp.

But, despite that setback, Forest continued to have the upper hand with Chambers once again going close.

And although Thomas Ince hit the post, Majewski struck to give Forest the points that move them up a place to 19th in the Championship table.
