Notts County 2-0 Rochdale
Lee Hughes' sixth goal of the season helped Notts County to victory over Rochdale at Meadow Lane.
County broke the deadlock when Ben Burgess sent Hughes through and the veteran striker calmly finished.
Gary Jones had Rochdale's best chance of the game, but he saw his long-range effort sneak just wide of the post.
Alan Sheehan almost doubled the lead but had his shot saved by Jake Kean, before Sam Sodje glanced home Sheehan's free-kick to secure the win.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Notts County boss Martin Allen told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"Well, you can't deny that is a good start to the season. Considering last year - I think the last time they (Notts) won here was back in February - you've got to sometimes measure your progress and how far we've come, how quick we've got here.
"Credit has got to go to the players - the supporters have given them good backing, the staff have been fantastic behind the scenes - but those players, the footballers that actually go over the white line are really the ones that deserve the credit."
Rochdale manager Steve Eyre told BBC Radio Manchester:
"It wasn't as tough as we thought (it was going to be) - the actual 90 minutes.
"The first time Notts County came in the box with Lee Hughes they scored a goal, which is a lesson for us all.
"The percentages and the margins in this league with predator strikers on the pitch like that are really, really tight and can cost you."
