Tranmere 1-1 Sheffield Utd

Joss Labadie came off the bench to rescue a point for Tranmere Rovers against Sheffield United.

Enoch Showunmi missed an early chance for the home side, heading Lucas Akins' deep cross wide.

Nick Montgomery gave the Blades a half-time lead with a stunning strike from 35-yards that found the top corner.

Rovers pressed for an equaliser after the break and found one when Labadie stooped low to head in David Buchanan's teasing cross.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Tranmere manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"I could make noises to say we should have won it, but we've got to be realistic. As the game went on, we created more and more.

"Joss Labadie has scored two in two games and he has affected the game when he's come on.

"It's a bit unfortunate for him and for anybody else who's sat on the bench that the lads on the pitch are doing well and that makes it difficult to make changes."

Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It was a battle, which we dealt with brilliantly for 90% of the time, but we got caught.

"The amount of pressure we were on at certain point of the game, I thought we did great.

"We had to dig in, we had to roll our sleeves up and put our heads on the line. We did great."
