Rochdale sign Blackburn Rovers keeper Jake Kean on loan
Rochdale have signed Blackburn Rovers' reserve goalkeeper Jake Kean on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old has previous experience in League One with Hartlepool United where he made 25 appearances during a loan spell last season.
Manager Steve Eyre told the club website: "We've been after Jake from the moment Frankie and I were appointed and are really pleased he is with us."
"He's a big lad with immense potential and a good prospect for the future."
Kean began his career at Derby County, but after being released he had a successful trial period with Rovers which earned him a contract.
The England Under-20 international initially joined Hartlepool last season on a one-month loan deal, but impressed so much this was extended to five months.
"I'd like to thank Bobby Mimms in particular and Blackburn Rovers for allowing him to come to us because we were among a few clubs wanting him," Eyre added.
"We had to show some patience because we knew he was going on a tour of Asia with Blackburn's first team and that did allow us to have a look at other keepers.
"We are pleased our first choice has come to fruition and we are looking forward to working with him all season."
