Macclesfield Town sign Waide Fairhurst from Doncaster

Fairhurst joined Hereford on a loan spell last season

Macclesfield Town have signed striker Waide Fairhurst from Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at the south Yorkshire club, signed a two-year contract at the Moss Rose.

Fairhurst had previous loan spells at Shrewsbury Town, Southend United and Hereford United.

Silkmen boss Gary Simpson said earlier this month he wanted to sign another striker before the start of the season.

Fairhurst still had a year remaining on his contract at Doncaster after signing a two-year deal at the club last summer.
