Dunfermline sign Partick Thistle full-back Paddy Boyle
Former Everton trainee Paddy Boyle has joined promoted Dunfermline Athletic after leaving Partick Thistle.
The 24-year-old left-back has signed a two-year contract with the First Division champions.
Glasgow-born Boyle moved to Everton's academy from Livingston in 2003 but failed to break into the first team.
He had loan spells with Crewe Alexandra and Norwich City before joining Dumbarton in January 2009 and moving to Thistle six months later.
Boyle had helped Dumbarton win the Third Division title and promotion, but his time at Firhill was punctuated by a loan spell at Clyde in March 2010.
However, following the Bully Wee's relegation from Division Two, he returned to Thistle and became a first-team regular last season as the Glasgow side finished fifth in the First Division.
In all, Boyle made 54 appearances for Thistle and, having had first-team experience in the Championship and League One in England, he will now hope to make his mark in the Scottish Premier League.
Boyle, who rejected the offer of a new two-year contract at Firhill, becomes Pars boss Jim McIntyre's third signing in three days.
Midfielder Paul Burns was handed a similar deal after leaving First Division rivals Queen of the South, while central defender Kevin Rutkiewicz won a permanent one-year contract following his release by St Johnstone after impressing on loan at East End Park.
