Gateshead sign Michael Cummins on one-year deal
Gateshead have signed former Grimsby Town midfielder Michael Cummins on a one-year deal.
Cummins, 32, was released by the Mariners having made 36 appearances, and is reunited with boss Ian Bogie who he played with at Port Vale.
"I have been tracking him since his time at Rotherham, he is just what we need," said Bogie.
"He's a talented player with a physical presence who can also score goals, has a lot of know how."
Bogie added: "Michael is a player who will put his foot in and dictate play, I am delighted he has put pen to paper"
The former Republic of Ireland under-21 player began his career at Middlesbrough before moving to Port Vale, where he was a Football League Trophy winner in 2001.
He then left Vale Park for a move to Darlington, following by a stint at Rotherham before linking up with Grimsby.
Bogie will also take a look at former Darlington winger Chris Moore during a trial at Gateshead in July.
