Shoppers cross swords with Olympic hopefuls

Brave Sheffield shoppers have been battling the might of British Fencing's finest at the Meadowhall centre.

Top British fencers Richard Kruse and Laurence Halsted persuaded passers-by to take them on with foam swords in a bid to publicise next month's European Championships, being held at the city's English Institute of Sport.

The competition, which features both fencing and wheelchair fencing, runs from 13-19 July.
