'I believed I could walk again'

The former pro dirt bike rider Kevin Rempel has spoken about his recovery from a crash in 2006 which left him paraplegic.

The sportsman taught himself to walk again, and later became part of the Canadian sledge hockey team.

His sights are now set on achieving gold at next year's Sochi Paralympics.

Kevin told BBC Radio 5 live's Stephen Nolan: "All of a sudden I wiggled my big toe."

"I was so excited every single day to wake up to go and do physio and see what else I could get back. I especially at that point believed I could walk again."
