I've given up on heroes - Froome

Tour de France runner-up Chris Froome says he long since "gave up hanging my hopes on other people" and instead focuses on himself.

The Team Sky rider describes growing up watching "underdog" Ivan Basso race against Lance Armstong and says once the Italian served a ban then he stopped having heroes in the sport.

Froome will ride in this year's Tour de France alongside team-mate Sir Bradley Wiggins.
