T20 Blast: Leicestershire v Northants abandoned by rain
NatWest T20 Blast, Grace Road
Northants 82 (16.2 overs) v Leicestershire. Match abandoned
Leicestershire 1 pt, Northants 1 pt
Leicestershire bowled out Northants for just 82 before rain forced the match at Grace Road to be abandoned.
The visitors lost opener Richard Levi to the second ball of the T20 Blast North Group game and never recovered.
Charlie Shreck, Anthony Ireland and Ben Raine took three wickets apiece to skittle Northants with more than three overs remaining.
But a downpour during the innings break kept the players off and the umpires abandoned the match at 20:10 BST.
Niall O'Brien took five catches - a record for Leicestershire in Twenty20 cricket, which also equalled the domestic record for dismissals by a wicketkeeper.
Holders Northants' total of 82 was their second lowest in the competition. They were bowled out for just 47 by Durham in 2011.
