Joe Root delighted to sign new Yorkshire deal

England batsman Joe Root says he is "really pleased" to sign a new deal that keeps him at Yorkshire until the end of the 2016 season.

The England international, 23, has hit 2,138 first-class runs for Yorkshire at an average of more than 43.

Root also says he is doing everything he can to recover from the fractured thumb that saw him miss the World Twenty20.
