Ireland coach Phil Simmons says his side's experience is crucial in the World Twenty20 qualifying tournament.

Ireland coach is happy with his team's performance as they see off a battling Canada side by just two runs in the World Twenty20 qualifying tournament in Abu Dhabi.

"We could have bowled better and Canada batted well, but we win tight games now which is nice," said Johnston.

The Irish side are expected to secure one of the six places up for grabs at the 2014 World Twenty20 which is being staged in Bangladesh in March.
