Chris Taylor uncertain over Gloucestershire deal

Long-serving Gloucestershire batsman Chris Taylor has been given no steer on his future at the club.

The 34-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, told BBC Gloucestershire: "We've got the ground development going on.

"And until those things are sorted out I don't think any contracts are being sorted out."

He equalled his career best score of 196 in the current Championship match against Kent.

Two other senior players, Jon Lewis and Hamish Marshall, are believed to be in the same position.

Taylor made his Gloucestershire debut in 2000 and was the first player ever to make a century on his Championship debut at Lord's.

He has since scored more than 12,000 runs in all cricket, and worked with the England team as a specialist fielding coach.
