Team Wales has announced the team of 23 swimmers who will compete at the Commonwealth Games.

Seven swimmers, including Jazz Carlin, Jemma Lowe, Georgia Davies and Thomas Haffield, had already been confirmed.

Now, an additional 16 athletes and para-athletes have been selected.

Chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales, Chris Jenkins, said it was "fantastic" that some of the medallists from the Delhi Games in 2010 will be competing again.

The majority of the additional 16 swimmers announced on Tuesday will be making their debut at the Games.

Jenkins added: "The seven pre-selected swimmers aside it is a very young and relatively inexperienced team and we're delighted to be able to give them such invaluable experience on the world stage and to see how they perform and deliver for Wales."
