Snowboarder Zoe Gillings "delighted" with funding boost

Britain's number one snowboarder Zoe Gillings said she is "excited about the future" after finding out she will receive podium funding towards the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Earlier this month, UK Sport announced an award of up to £348,450 for British Ski and Snowboarding (BSS) which will go towards athletes' costs.

The Isle of Man snowboarder has not received any funding since the collapse of SnowsportGB prior to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

"It is brilliant news and I am really excited by the future," said Gillings.
