British pairing Naomi Broady and Neal Skupski reached the third round of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon after defeating Spanish ninth seeds David Marrero and Arantxa Parra-Santonja.

Resuming 4-1 up in the second set after losing the first, they took it 6-3.

And they broke in the seventh game of the decider, before Skupski served out to take the match 2-6 6-3 6-4.

They will face Florin Mergea and Elina Svitolina or Jean-Julien Rojer and Anna-Lena Groenefeld in the next round.

The result continued a successful Wimbledon so far for Broady, who bowed out at the second round stage of the women's singles to 16th seed Caroline Wozniacki.

The 23-year-old from Manchester got the decisive break in the third set on court 16 with a smash which Marrero could do nothing about.

Elsewhere, fellow Brits Dominic Inglot and Johanna Konta went out to second seeds Bob Bryan and Kveta Peschke 7-6 (8-6) 6-3, while Colin Fleming and Jocelyn Rae lost to seventh seeds Rohan Bopanna and Andrea Hlavackova.
