Elena Baltacha out of Sparta Prague Open after semi-final loss

Elena Baltacha missed out on a Sparta Prague Open final place as she lost her semi-final to Klara Zakopalova.

The 28-year-old Briton suffered a 6-1 6-3 defeat by the Czech second seed.

Baltacha's road to semi-finals

First round: Arrubarrena-Vecino 6-3 6-1

Second round: Radwanska 6-1 6-4

Quarter-final: Sevastova 6-3 6-4

World number 70 Baltacha had not dropped a set on her way to the semi-finals, beating Latvian Anastasija Sevastova in the previous round.

Baltacha has not reached the final of an ITF women's tournament since October 2011, where she finished runner-up in the St Petersburg Open.

Zakopalova will now meet Lucie Safarova in an all-Czech final after the top seed won the second semi-final against unseeded Alize Cornet of France 6-3 5-7 6-1.
