Lincolnshire schoolgirl Chloe Hannam is hoping to upset the odds and claim a place in the GB Olympic swimming team.
The 15-year-old, has qualified for the 400m individual medley and 200m backstroke at the forthcoming trials at the London Aquatic Centre.
She told BBC Look North: "It's quite scary realising that I could be part of the Olympic team."
Chloe has been working without a full-time coach and has to travel to Peterborough for additional training.
Her mother Linda told BBC Look North: "She trains [in Peterborough] at half-past-four in the afternoon and goes straight from school.
"She trains for a couple of hours and she's back at half-past-seven, she then has to turn around and do her homework and before you know it, it's quarter-to-five in the morning and you're taking her back to training," she added.
Chloe is a member of the South Lincs Competitive Swimming club, based in Spalding, which boasts ex-Olympian Mel Marshall as a former member.
"It's going to be really exciting (at the trials) and also really nerve-wracking but I'm trying not to think about it too much or I'll get really really nervous," she added.
"I've surprised myself how far I've got, so I just keep working hard and South Lincs [club] have been really supportive."
