Neves has broken a host of island records this year
Guernsey's national age group champion swimmer Kristina Neves says she is unlikely to win a medal at the forthcoming Commonwealth Youth Games.
The 14-year-old took two titles at the National Age Group championships earlier this month and got nine medals at June's Island Games.
"It is a tougher competition so I probably won't [win a] medal," she told
"I just want to go there, do my best and come back with some PBs," she said.
The 400m and 800m specialist, who lists Rebecca Adlington as her hero, says she is focusing on getting into the national team for the European Junior Championships next year.
But ahead of that she will be
representing Guernsey in the Commonwealth Youth Games
in the Isle of Man next month.
And while London 2012 is far too early for her, she says she would like to make the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
"It is every swimmer's dream. I'd be 19 or 20 and I would have gained more experience at that age so hopefully I could make it."
