Sports Personality: Ian Bell delivered when it mattered in 2013

During the countdown to the 60th BBC Sports Personality of the Year award on Sunday 15 December, we will be looking at each of the 10 shortlisted contenders.

Sports Personality of the Year contender Ian Bell says he delivered "when his team needed it most" in 2013.

Bell scored 562 runs, including three vital centuries, as England's cricketers beat Australia 3-0 in this summer's home Ashes series.

The batsman, currently in Australia defending the Ashes, says that this year he "repaid a lot of people's faith" and will look back fondly at his 2013 performances.
