Leicester have named ex-track curator Glyn Taylor as their new manager after the shock departure of Jason Attwood.
Attwood, who was in charge for less than 12 months but had overseen three Premier League wins out of three this season, quit because he felt he was lacking support within the club.
Co-promoter Alan Jones said he made three attempts to get Attwood to stay, but welcomed Taylor's appointment.
"Glyn is a well-rounded person in terms of speedway experience," Jones said.
"He has been a promoter, rider and track curator. He knows the staff at Leicester having been involved with the track work last season and his knowledge will add value to the management team at Beaumont Park."
Jones added: "I offered to work alongside Jason to resolve the issues because we did not want to lose him. Unfortunately my offer of help was not accepted which left us no alternative but to seek an immediate replacement."
