  1. 1210:

Good afternoon and welcome to our live text coverage of this afternoon's five Scottish Premier League games.

  2. 1211:

Pre-match, speculation abounded whether Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels would play defender Manuel Pascali.

Shiels had raised the possibility of playing Pascali even though he had served only half of his two-game suspension.

It was the kind of eye-popping sweaty-palmed rebellion not seen since Andy Dufresne darted into Warden Samuel Norton's Office and played The Marriage of Figaro in The Shawshank Redemption.

Alas, there is no sign of the Italian defender - in the starting line-up or on the bench...

    BREAKING NEWS

Rangers have appointed Jim Traynor as the club's new director of communication.

Traynor, 59, has worked as sports editor with the Daily Record and presenter of BBC Radio Scotland's football phone-in show Your Call.

Earlier this month, he wrote his final column for the newspaper.

BBC Radio Scotland will produce a new programme to replace Your Call.

  5. 1214:

Asked about the Manuel Pascali show/now show, Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels has told BBC Sportsound listeners: "It's all part of the game..."

  8. 1218:
    Celtic manager Neil Lennon

"We're changing our system a bit today and you'll see what it's like once the game starts."

  9. 1219:

For Kilmarnock, no sign of Manuel Pascali. But midfielder Liam Kelly replaces Lee Johnson in the starting line up.

Neil Lennon makes four changes to his Celtic side for the trip to Rugby Park: midfielder Victor Wanyama returns from suspension with right-back Adam Matthews, midfielder Joe Ledley and striker Lassad Nouioui in for the injured Mikael Lustig (hamstring) and Kris Commons (thigh) with Beram Kayal and Georgios Samaras dropping to the bench.

  10. 1222:

The cold snap has hit the SFL fixture list. Eight games have fallen victim to the weather, we have full details on our website.

Should you still be heading to a game this afternoon, wrap up warm; it's Rocky IV weather out there...

  11. 1225:

Kilmarnock skipper Manuel Pascali, asked whether he'd feature this afternoon has tweeted: "I'm playin aye!!!!!! Monopoly!!!!!"

He's playing his Get Out Of Jail free card there...

  12. 1230:
    KICK-OFF

Kilmarnock get us under way at Rugby Park.

  13. 1231:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod

"Celtic are playing with three at the back with the full backs pushing up..."

  14. 1232:

Joe Ledley tries to dab a ball through a crowded Kilmarnock penalty area to Celtic striker Gary Hooper but the hosts snuff out the early danger.

  15. 1234:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds

"It's freezing and has been raining; the ball is zipping off the turf but both players are trying to get their passing game going."

  16. 1236:

In a menacing Celtic attack, Joe Ledley dinks in a great cross for Gary Hooper who in turn pulls it back for Scott Brown but the skipper can't get a shot away and it remains goalless after an entertaining opening six minutes.

  17. 1237:

Chris Martin: "No more Your Call??! Disaster! I'm gutted #bbcsportsound"

  18. 1238:

Izaguirre slaloms past a couple of Kilmarnock challenges but he runs out of steam on the edge of the penalty area and Kenny Shiels's men successfully muzzle another Celtic counter.

  19. 1239:

Peter_Gerola: "Really poor crowd at Rugby Park...only the one to notice that? #bbcsportsound"

Spot on, more than a few empty seats. Any idea why?

  20. 1241:

Adam Matthews and Gary Hooper combine well before the latter tees up Victor Wanyama but the combative midfielder blazes a wild effort high and wide that's got more chance of knocking out someone's pie & bovril than setting the net billowing...

  21. 1242:

Kilmarnock respond with Danny Racchi showing enterprise down the right and his cross is cleared for a corner. The hosts, however, fail to test Fraser Forster from the set piece.

It's a good open game with 15 minutes gone, both sides keen to get forward in numbers. I can't see this one ending goalless...

  22. 1246:

Kilmarnock spurn their first genuine chance of the game: Cillian Sheridan sends over an inviting cross in the box but Paul Heffernan's shot finds the side netting.

  23. 1247:

Board67: "Killie were the only club who wanted to bend the rules to allow the new Rangers club into the SPL, hence the boycott today #bbcsportsound"

  24. 1250:
    YELLOW CARD

Kilmarnock captain Liam Kelly earns a booking for a "studs up" sliding challenge on Adam Matthews. BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds thinks it's a touch harsh, our trackside reporter Kheredine Idessane believes it was more for the intent...

  25. 1251:
    BBC Sportsound commentator Liam McLeod

"It's not happening for Kilmarnock in the final third at the moment: in fact, it's not happening for either side..."

  26. 1253:

Celtic are playing with width but are struggling to get in behind a disciplined Kilmarnock rearguard. Manuel Pascali - if he is still playing Monopoly - would be proud of his team-mates.

Wonder if he's put a hotel on Mayfair yet?

  27. 1254:

Roddy Cons: "Any idea why the crowd is poor? Errrr how about 20-odd quid a ticket when the game is on TV? Fans being isolated as usual #bbcsportsound"

Fergus Weir: "Better from Killie there, haven't looked too shaky despite Celtic possession. #bbcsportsound"

  28. 1255:
    GOAL- KILMARNOCK 0-1 CELTIC (BROWN)

The visitors have been causing Kilmarnock down the flanks and Celtic create the opening goal with an impressive move down the right. Adam Matthews is fed by Gary Hooper and his pull back finds Scott Brown whose shot across Cammy Bell finds the net.

  29. 1256:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds

"It's no less than Celtic deserve..."

  30. 1258:

Gavin MacLeod: "Given Celtic's recent after-Europe record, I've got Kilmarnock for the win. #bbcsportsound #dontletmedown #payingforthexmaspresents"

  31. 1259:

Nico: "Looks like Pascali is going to need a get out of jail free card for his mates at Rugby Park!"

  32. 1301:

Celtic, driving forward in search of a second goal, are thwarted by a back-tracking Liam Kelly as Lassad is about to pull the trigger after being teed up by Gary Hooper.

From Charlie Mulgrew's corner, the ball is worked out to Adam Matthews but the Welshman's 25-yard effort is well wide.

  33. 1303:
    CLOSE!

Much better from Kilmarnock. Heffernan and Perez cause alarm in the Celtic defence and the ball breaks to Cillian Sheridan who rifles in a shot that flies just over the bar.

  34. 1305:

Another chance for Kilmarnock who are suddenly warming to the task. Liam Kelly's cross evades everyone in the box and Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster scrambles like a giant crab on roller skates across goal but the ball fizzes inches wide.

Did the big keeper have it covered? I'm not sure he did. Would Kelly have claimed it as a shot? You betcha!

  35. 1307:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds

"Celtic (with a 3-5-2 formation) are strangling the life out of Kilmarnock, who can't get their passing game going."

  36. 1310:

Five minutes until the break and Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels is cutting a frustrated figure on the touchline. He's doing the Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa strut in the technical area: two steps to the left and turn, two steps to the right and turn...

He wants more from his side in the final third.

  37. 1311:

Celtic have the ball in the net through Lassad but the visitors were flagged offside and it remains 1-0 with a couple of minutes remaining of an entertaining first half.

  38. 1314:
    YELLOW CARD

Cillian Sheridan's name goes into referee Craig Thomson's book for dissent. The big striker was unhappy that advantage wasn't played when Kilmarnock were fouled on the counter attack.

  39. 1316:
    HALF-TIME- KILMARNOCK 0-1 CELTIC

Scott Brown's strike separates the sides at Rugby Park and Kilmarnock have struggled to come to terms with Celtic's 3-5-2 formation. Food for thought for Kenny Shiels over his half-time orange while Neil Lennon will be content with his charges...

  40. 1318:

Pat the Stat, Glasgow: "Perhaps the poor crowd may have something to do with Kilmarnock failing to vote in accordance with sporting integrity."

  41. 1320:

Tom Watson: "Killie not doing so bad, what with Celtic having the away-from-Parkhead advantage#bbcsportsound."

  42. 1324:

Speaking of Monopoly, what's your best strategy for victory? One of my mates hoovered up the orange and yellow properties (Bow Street, Marlborough & Vine Street/Leicester Square, Coventry Street & Piccadilly) and got as many houses on them. Every journey round the board was fraught with danger...

  43. 1331:
    KICK-OFF

Here we go in the second half...

  44. 1332:
    CHAMPAGNE MOMENT

Kilmarnock come within a whisker of equalising as Paul Hffernan's rasping drive is blocked on the line by Charlie Mulgrew.

Play rages up the other end and Cammy Bell palms away a stinging Gary Hooper shot. What a start to the second half!

  45. 1334:

Gary Hooper has a great chance inside the Kilmarnock penalty area but can't get a shot away and both sides are attacking with ferocious intent, great stuff!

  46. 1336:

MikeyBhoy77: "Outstanding defending from Mulgrew #bbcsportsound"

  47. 1339:

Joe Ledley tries his luck from 25 yards out but screws his effort wide of goal. Celtic are beginning to raise the tempo again as they look to double their lead.

  48. 1342:
    YELLOW CARD

Gary Harkins is shown the yellow card for a clumsy high challenge on Scott Brown. Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels shuffles his pack: Mahamadou Sissoko comes on for Danny Racchi.

  49. 1343:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod

"The big problem for Kilmarnock is the middle of the park: Scott Brown is dominating."

  50. 1345:

Michael Nelson does brilliantly to block a Lassad half volley and Celtic are getting closer and closer to a second goal...

  51. 1347:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds

"Michael Nelson is a really robust centre half, no frills or thrills."

  52. 1350:

Kilmarnock force a corner after good work by Perez...

  53. 1351:

... but Paul Heffernan's shot is blocked by Kelvin Wilson and the hosts' latest attack is blunted by Celtic. It remains 1-0 with 25 minutes remaining but you get the feeling there's another goal in this game...

  54. 1352:
    GOAL- KILMARNOCK 0-2 CELTIC (LEDLEY)

Celtic double their lead as they stretch Kilmarnock from left to right, Victor Wanyama finding Scott Brown and his centre is forced home at the back post by the sliding Joe Ledley.

  55. 1353:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds

"Kilmarnock were coming back into the game but that's an important goal for Celtic and could be game over."

  56. 1355:

MickeyBhoy77: "Well worked goal from Celtic midfield #bbcsportsound"

  57. 1356:

Georgios Samaras is on for Lassad, with Kilmarnock also freshening things up: James Dayton on for Gary Harkins and Mark O'Hara coming on for Borja Perez.

  58. 1358:

Victor Wanyama surges into the Kilmanock box to collect a Joe Ledley pass but his effort lacks bite and it remains 2-0 to Celtic as we enter the final 20 minutes at Rugby Park.

  59. 1400:
    GOAL- KILMARNOCK 0-3 CELTIC (SAMARAS)

BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds says "It's one of the best goals you'll see all season." Adam Matthews scampers down the right following an impressive passing move before sending in a teasing cross that Georgios Samaras powerfully heads home via the crosssbar with Cammy Bell stranded.

  60. 1403:
    Ouch!

That third goal has given Celtic the luxury of taking their foot off the gas. Nevertheless, they continue to press forward and Kayal, on for Izaguirre, fizzes a shot wide of goal but it finds a fan's glasses which tumble to the ground.

  61. 1405:

Miku comes on for Gary Hooper as Celtic make their third and final substitution. "Hooper has led the line well today," according to BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod.

  62. 1407:

Hutch the Ger: "In response to Pat. Looks Like you may have missed a Stat. Rangers won the tax case appeal so no breach of the old favourite ' Sporting Integrity' "

  63. 1408:

Anonymous: "Do Kilmarnock fans not realise they are needed at matches? The home support is nothing short of a disgrace. If they can't come out for Celtic's visit when will they? Real pity!"

  64. 1410:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"It's cold but dry as Ross County prepare for their first ever competitive match at the home of Motherwell. These sides have met just once before in the league - on the first day of the season when it was 0-0 in Dingwall.

"Motherwell have won just once at home all season, back in September, but County have struggled of late. A win for Derek Adams' side against one of his former clubs would likely lift them into a mid-table position. Stuart McCall's men are targeting the top four."

  65. 1412:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod

"If Kilmarnock had found an equaliser earlier, then it could've been game on..."

  66. 1415:
    CLOSE!

Unmarked Celtic defender Efi Ambrose flashes a header wide from Charlie Mulgrew's free kick from the left. He should've made it 4-0 but it flew inches wide.

  67. 1416:
    GOAL- KILMARNOCK 1-3 CELTIC (SHERIDAN)

What a goal! Kilmarnock pull a goal back as Cillian Sheridan scores against his former team, flashing home an unstoppable drive from 10 yards as he connects with Tesselaar's cross. Take a bow son!

  68. 1417:
    FULL-TIME- KILMARNOCK 1-3 CELTIC

Celtic move four points clear at the top of the table as they buck the recent trend of poor domestic results following impressive European displays. The change in formation proved more problematic for Kilmarnock than Neil Lennon's men with Adam Matthews, in particuarl, shining for the visitors.

  69. 1418:
    BBC Sportsound pundit Murdo MacLeod

"Celtic's workrate was phenomenal and they dominated the match. Scott Brown, talking about an operation, if he plays like that week in week out, then he's got to play."

  70. 1423:
    Celtic bos Neil Lennon

"I thought we were brilliant today from start to finish and Adam Matthews was fantastic. To come here and perform so well on the back of Wednesday (against Spartak Moscow) is pleasing.

"They're full of confidence at the moment. The only disappointment is not to keep a clean sheet."

  71. 1424:
LINE-UPS- TEAMS FROM ST MIRREN PARK

St Mirren: Samson, McAusland, McLean, van Zanten, Mair, Teal, McGinn, Thompson, Guy, Dummett, Goodwin. Subs: Smith, Carey, Barron, Imrie, REilly, Parkin, Robertson

St Johnstone: Mannus, Miller, Wright, Anderson, Callum Davidson, Vine, Millar, Murray Davidson, Craig, MacLean, Tade. Subs: Tuffey, Cregg, Scobbie, Hasselbaink, Pawlett, Caddis, Rodger.

  72. 1426:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Rihanna might be playing right now on the stadium tannoy, but there's no diamonds in the sky over Paisley at the moment. But, while there's a fair chill factor, at least there is no rain overhead as two groups of Saints attempt to warm up enough to sparkle by kick-off time."

  73. 1428:

Fergie in Aberdeen: "The Dons fans love Ryan Fraser so if it's true that Aberdeen don't fancy him it shows they are inept!!! He shows real promise and the Dons should have done everything possible to hold onto him!!!"

  74. 1430:

Keith McAdam: "Good to see Hibs have an attacking team line up today. Need to keep up with Celtic with a win. But it will be tough today. #bbcsportsound."

  75. 1431:

Patrick: "Quality from Celtic - Top of the SPL, semi finals of league cup and last 16 of the Champions League - What a time to be a Celt!"

  76. 1433:
    Hibs boss Pat Fenlon

"We set ourselves a target at the start of the season of being in the top six and we need to keep winning..."

  77. 1434:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Buddies boss Danny Lennon makes two changes from the team that defeated Brechin City in the Scottish Cup. Captain Jim Goodwin returns to midfield following suspension, while top scorer Steven Thompson is fit to start up front in place of Sam Parkin.

"The unlucky man to make way for Goodwin is young Jon Robertson, who scored with an excellent 25-yard volley last weekend."

  78. 1436:
BBC Scotland reporter Charles Bannerman at the Caledonian Stadium

"Third versus second in Inverness today but nine months ago this would almost have been a six-pointer. Both Hibs and Caley Thistle have improved hugely. It feels like an evening kick-off. Thick cloud means it's already nearly dark in the Highlands so the floodlights will be needed right from the start."

  79. 1438:
BBC Scotland's Brian McLauchlin at Tynecastle

"Hearts fans get their wish with John Sutton recalled to the starting 11 for match v Aberdeen. The Dons drop Rory Fallon to the bench with Cameron Smith replacing him in the Dons' starting line-up."

  80. 1442:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas replaces the suspended Dave Mackay with fit-again veteran full-back Callum Davidson. Peter Pawlett and Patrick Cregg are also returning from injury but have to be content with a place on the bench.

"Which is more than can be said of their manager. Lomas will be in the stand and could be there for up to 16 weeks depending on how his meeting with SFA compliance officer Vincent Lunny goes on Monday following his latest touchline misdemeanor."

  81. 1444:
    Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels

"It's difficult facing Celtic in December and January when they're firing on all cylinders. We had a great chance to make it 1-1 and then we end up 2-0 down.

"I knew they'd have a sense of achievement with qualification for the knock out stages of the Champions League and they could now focus on their domestic form.

"We didn't match the runs of Ledley and Brown. We're missing our captain through suspension and these things don't happen to sides like Celtic."

  82. 1445:
    LINE-UPS- TEAMS FROM TYNECASTLE

Hearts: MacDonald, Ryan McGowan, Webster, Zaliukas, McHattie, Taouil, Barr, Stevenson, Driver, Sutton, Gordon Smith. Subs: Enckelman, Walker, Prychynenko, Billy King, Paterson, Carrick, Adam King.

Aberdeen: Langfield, Magennis, Anderson, Reynolds, Considine, Hayes, Smith, Rae, Shaughnessy, McGinn, Vernon. Subs: Jason Brown, Fallon, Megginson, Jordon Brown, Masson, McManus, Murray.

    Referee: Euan Norris

  83. 1447:
    LINE-UPS- TEAMS FROM CALEDONIAN STADIUM

Inverness CT: Reguero, Raven, Warren, Meekings, Graeme Shinnie, Doran, Draper, Tudur Jones, Andrew Shinnie, Foran, McKay. Subs: Esson, Sutherland, Morrison, Laing, Polworth, Pepper, Cooper.

    Referee: Crawford Allan

  84. 1449:
    LINE-UPS- TEAMS FROM FIR PARK

Motherwell: Hollis, Hateley, Hutchinson, Cummins, Hammell, Humphrey, Lasley, Law, Murphy, Ojamaa, Higdon. Subs: Stewart, Ramsden, McHugh, Daley, Carswell, Kerr, Francis-Angol.

Ross County: Brown, Kovacevic, Tokely, Boyd, Fitzpatrick, Brittain, Fotheringham, Vigurs, Quinn, McMenamin, Glen. Subs: Fraser, Munro, Kettlewell, Lawson, Cooper, MacPhee, Ross.

    Referee: Calum Murray

  85. 1452:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"History is not in the home side's favour at St Mirren Park today. St Johnstone have won nearly twice as many times as their rivals in matches between the sides. And the Buddies have not beaten the Perth side on their last 10 visits to Paisley., their last win coming in August 2004. Of course, the Saints also won their last meeting, beating St Mirren 2-1 at McDiarmid Park in October."

  86. 1453:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Both Motherwell and Ross County fans in here the main stand at Fir Park, making for a great atmosphere as both sets of players retreated from the pitch to the dressing room at the end of their warm-up, with applause all round."

  87. 1454:

Joss Marnoch: "Two weeks ago St Johnstone could have moved top of the SPL, by tomorrow they could be 7th! Need a win at SMP today!"

  88. 1456:

Alan in Eyemouth: "Got to disagree with Chick Young , the majority of fans I speak to are so fed up off Kenny Shiels it's unreal. He is making himself sound sillier & sillier everyone he speaks. The first interviews he did were interesting but now it is just embarrassing listening to him. Time for some to have a quiet word with him & tell him to concentrate on bring a manager, the job he is paid to do."

  89. 1457:

Ryan Heatly: "Great to see young Cammy Smith in the team again for The Dons. Another great prospect#bbcsportsound."

  90. 1458:

Danny Flynn, Beauly: "Chick Young: have a serious word with yourself!"

  91. 1500:
    KICK-OFF

Hang onto your hats, here we go...

  92. 1501:

Former Scotland manager Craig Levein is in the stand at Tynecastle to watch his former side. Wonder if he's considering a return to club football at some stage?

  93. 1502:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"They are playing "Into the Valley" and now "The Saints Are Coming". With all the black and white regalia at St Mirren Park, I can close my eyes and imagine I am back at East End Park in my days with the Dunfermline Press! Okay, so the latter is more appropriate to today's two foes, but The Skids are Fifers and Pars men through and through..."

  94. 1503:

BBC Scotland's Jonathan Sutherland has described a "riot of colour" at Ibrox as host of players past and present help the club celebrate their 140th year. Rangers are at home to Stirling Albion...

  95. 1504:

Aberdeen's Jonny Hayes has the first attempt on goal as he fizzes an effort over from 20 yards. Bright start from the visitors at Tynecastle.

  96. 1506:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas is on the naughty step in the stand only feet away from the press box, wired for some kind of sound and already communicating his thoughts to someone somewhere else in the ground. So far, his tweed cloth cap hasn't flown off in anger even though his side are having to do all the early defending."

  97. 1508:

John More: "Dons to continue impressive away form today. McGinn in the goals again and a belter from right back Magennis"

  98. 1510:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Rocco Quinn's delicate chip just clears the Motherwell crossbar. Prior to that, it had been the hosts making the early running. There's a couple of former 'Well players in the County rearguard, including keeper Mark Brown and defender Marc Fitzpatrick, and they look as though they've been primed for an early onslaught."

  99. 1511:

St Johnstone goalkeeper Alan Mannus pulls off an excellent one-handed save to deny John McGinn. From the resulting corner, Steven Anderson had to clear in front of his own goal and Gary Teale flashed another drive across the face of goal.

  100. 1512:

BBC Sportsound's Chick Young has exclusively revealed... that two SPL players will be heading to Ibrox once their transfer ban has been lifted...

  101. 1514:
    GOAL- INVERNESS 1-0 HIBS (DRAPER)

Terry Butcher's men continue their recent impressive form as they take the lead at home to Hibs. Shinnie's cross finds the head of Ross Draper.

  102. 1516:
GOAL- ST MIRREN 0-1 ST JOHNSTONE (DAVIDSON)

St Johnstone take the lead against the run of play. Callum Davidson's cross is flicked on by Liam Craig and Murray Davidson rises to head powerfully into the net from 10 yards. That's the Scotland squad midfielder's sixth goal of the season - making him the Perth side's top scorer.

  103. 1517:
GOAL- MOTHERWELL 0-1 ROSS COUNTY (QUINN)

What an opening goal from County! Rocco Quinn receives the ball as he drives at the Motherwell defence and from 25 yards smashes the ball past Lee Hollis.

Chick Young: "That was even better than Quinn's goal v ICT in the Scottish Cup last week."

  104. 1518:

Russell Anderson repels a dangerous cross from Ryan McGowan out for a corner as Hearts start to come into the game at Tynecastle - playing at a high tempo but it remains goalless.

  105. 1520:

Anonymous: "Is Chick saying he has evidence of players being tapped by Rangers while in contract then?"

Jim Rennie: "Re Clive Lindsay at 15:06 Russell Webb of the Skids was from McLellan Street in Kinning Park and went to same secondary school as Chick Young and I."

  106. 1521:

That Ross Draper goal for Inverness came slightly against the run of play as Hibs had looked lively with David Wotherspoon and Ivan Sproule asking questions of the home defence.

  107. 1525:
GOAL- MOTHERWELL 1-1 ROSS COUNTY (HIGDON)

The hosts are level and it's that man Michael Higdon with a trademark header. Mark Brown had done well to block Henrik Ojamaa's shot but Chris Humphrey returned the ball into the box for the big striker to find the net. Game on!

  108. 1526:

A diving header from Ryan McGowan from an Andy Driver corner flashes just past the post. Then the game races to the other end and Johnny Hayes forces Jamie MacDonald to parry his curling left-footed shot.

  109. 1527:
    STAT ALERT!

That's Michael Higdon's 57th SPL goal, putting him level with the likes of Steven Naismith, John Sutton and Darren Mackie.

  110. 1528:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"St Johnstone go close to stretching their lead when Steven MacLean is given too much time to pick his spot from 25 yards and his curling drive is turned round the post superbly by St Mirren goalkeeper Craig Samson, who is less convincing with his punch clear from the resulting corner."

  111. 1529:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Great chance for Motherwell to go ahead as Nicky Law squares the ball for Jamie Murphy but he leans back and skies the ball. County respond with a curling Iain Vigurs shot past the post. It's end-to-end."

  112. 1532:
    PENALTY

Hearts have been awarded a spot kick...

  113. 1532:
    GOAL- HEARTS 1-0 ABERDEEN (STEVENSON)

The Jambos draw first blood at Tynecastle. Josh Magennis hauls down Ryan McGowan as they tangle in the box ahead of a corner. The Aberdeen man is booked for his troubles and Ryan Stevenson steps up to fire the ball high past Jamie Langfield into the net.

  114. 1533:

Scott, Darryl & Greg Edinburgh: "Confident of an Inverness home win today."

  115. 1535:

Emboldened by that goal, Hearts midfielder Ryan Stevenson tries an audacious left-foot effort from almost 30 yards...which almost goes into orbit.

  116. 1536:
BBC Scotland's Charles Bannerman at the Caledonian Stadium

"Antonio Reguero is the hero for Caley Thistle as he tips Hibs striker Leigh Griffiths' effort over the bar. The home side are still 1-0 up."

  117. 1538:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Jamie Murphy is so effective when he cuts in from the left-hand side to link up the play. Chris Humphrey's strength on the other side is to hug the touchline and the dual effect is a very stretched County defence. Motherwell need to make this pressure count."

  118. 1539:

Sloppiness in the Motherwell defence allows Gary Glen in. He tries to round Lee Hollis but the keeper narrows the angle to make the save,

  119. 1540:

Cammy Bell: "Stevenson's penalty nearly burst a hole in the net. #bbcsportsound."

  120. 1541:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"A defensive slip by Steven Anderson presents St Mirren with a chance to equalise, but striker Lewis Guy is falling back as he clips his drive over the crossbar from just inside the St Johnstone penalty area."

  121. 1542:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren ParkRED CARD

"Moments after one slip allowed Lewis Guy a pot at goal, the St Johnstone defender Steven Anderson is sent off after a moment's hesitation, another slip and the upending of Guy on the edge of the penalty box. Harsh as it was, technically probably right as the St Mirren was denied a goalscoring opportunity. From the free-kick, Kenny McLean forces a fine save from Alan Mannus and, from the corner, Steven Thompson heads wide."

  122. 1543:
    Ouch!

Hearts goalscorer Ryan Stevenson down injured at the moment after a clattering aerial challenge with Aberdeen full-back Joe Shaughnessy. Eye-watering stuff in the Scottish capital...

  123. 1547:
    HALF-TIME- INVERNESS 1-0 HIBS
  124. 1548:
    HALF-TIME- MOTHERWELL 1-1 ROSS COUNTY

Motherwell have shaded in terms of pressure but County have had their chances. Two good goals, lots of enterprising play. Roll on the second half.

  125. 1549:
    HALF-TIME- HEARTS 1-0 ABERDEEN
  126. 1550:
HALF-TIME- ST MIRREN 0-1 ST JOHNSTONE

John McGinn rattles the St Johnstone crossbar seconds before the half-time whistle sounds with his team trailing to Murray Davidson's goal for the Perth Saints.

  127. 1552:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Mr Calamity Steven Anderson has handed the initiative back to St Mirren in Paisley. St Johnstone had soaked up the home side's pressure and were coasting to victory thanks to Murray Davidson's early goal.

"However, following Anderson's sending-off, the Buddies are beginning to exploit the extra space and have a full 45 minutes to equalise and perhaps secure a rare home victory over the Perth side."

  128. 1555:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Boogieing to Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' helping to warm up the crowd at Fir Park, as are the half-time pies."

  129. 1557:

Drew, Gers fan. "Who are the players Chick is mentioning bound for Rangers after ban is lifted?"

Not sure Drew, he's keeping his cards close to his chest...

  130. 1559:

Tam McIlroy, Paisley. "How can Clive Lindsay say the sending off was harsh if it was technically correct?"

  131. 1601:
    KICK-OFF

We're under way in the second half...

  132. 1603:
GOAL- MOTHERWELL 2-1 ROSS COUNTY (LAW)

Motherwell take the lead for the first time. Rocco Quinn gave the ball away in midfield and Nicky Law was released on the left, bearing down on goal before simply placing the ball into the net from the left-hand side of the box.

  133. 1604:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"County are almost level straight away as veteran Ross Tokely's header from a corner is palmed over by Lee Hollis and, from the next delivery, Colin McMenamin nods over."

  134. 1605:

Tam in Dundee: "Will the Sportsound Extra programe be a phone in?" There will be a phone-in element Tam, not strictly like before but fans will have their say...

  135. 1606:

Calum Paterson replaces Ryan Stevenson for Hearts - Stevenson obviously hasn't recovered from his first-half injury...

  136. 1608:

Archie McCallum: "Saints slowly losing their grip on this year's fair play award. When did we become the SPL Bad Boys?#bbcsportsound#long2ndhalfahead."

  137. 1609:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Winger Dougie Imrie is on for Marc McAusland at half-time as St Mirren manager Danny Lennon goes for the jugular by replacing one of his defenders. St Johnstone counterpart Steve Lomas has countered by replacing striker Rowan Vine with defender Tam Scobbie."

  138. 1610:

Anonymous: "Kenny Shiels comments about suspensions: Did he not mean that suspensions don't affect Celtic as they have a large squad? That was my interpretation..."

  139. 1612:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Penalty claim for Ross County as Mark Fotheringham goes to ground as tries to nip the ball away from Lee Hollis after the keeper spilled the ball but referee Calum Murray gesticulates that Hollis got the ball. Motherwell win a free-kick at the other end and Tom Hateley's superb strike is tipped over by the impressive Mark Brown."

  140. 1613:
    GOAL- HEARTS 2-0 ABERDEEN (PATERSON)

Callum Paterson makes it two after slotting Gordon Smith's cut-back into the net: the Jambos are on fire against the Dons...

  141. 1615:

Niall McGinn blazes a volley from the edge of the box as the shell-shocked Dons try to claw their way back into the game at Tynecastle.

  142. 1616:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"St Johnstone are being pegged back into their own half, not only by St Mirren's one-man advantage but by icy driving rain blowing into their sweaty brows."

  143. 1618:

Daniel Sim: "Management 101 for McGlynn. Play strikers, score goal#bbcsportsound."

  144. 1620:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"There's been a couple of Michael Laudrup-style drag-back turns here at Fir Park, one from Iain Vigurs and the next from Tom Hateley. It's just a pity neither contributed to a decent chance.

"County's Gary Glen has the ball in the net but he was well offside and his reaction suggests he already knew that."

  145. 1622:

Rob, Port Seton: "David Niven & Anthony Quinn - what is this Film 74?"

  146. 1623:
BBC Scotland's Andy Campbell at Fir Park

"Ross County make a double change, having earlier introduced Grant Munro for Mihael Kovacevic. Richard Brittain and Gary Glen are off and on come Stuart Kettlewell and Alex Cooper. For a moment I though the announcer had said 'Alice Cooper'."

  147. 1625:
GOAL- MOTHERWELL 2-2 ROSS COUNTY (QUINN)

It's all square again. Rocco Quinn gets a second bite at the cherry after his first effort is blocked and the deflected second shot wrong-foots Lee Hollis and trickles into the net.

  148. 1627:
GOAL- ST MIRREN 1-1 ST JOHNSTONE (DUMMETT)

St Johnstone are reduced to nine men as Chris Millar picks up a second yellow for tripping St Mirren youngster John McGinn. And it goes from bad to worse for the visitors as from the free kick, Kenny McLean's drive is beaten away by gaolkeeper Craig Samson and Paul Dummett blasts the equaliser into the net from close range.

  149. 1630:
    GREAT SAVE!

Great chance for Aberdeen as Jamie MacDonald pulls off a terrific save when Scott Vernon picks up on a deflection to be one-on-one with the keeper...

  150. 1631:

Fergie, Aberdeen: "Without Ryan Fraser there is no pace or skill in the Aberdeen team and no one to provide for the forwards!! We will go on a slide now!!!"

  151. 1632:
GOAL- INVERNESS CT 2-0 HIBS (FORAN)

Inverness are looking good to be in second place in the SPL this evening as David Raven whips a great ball into the box where Richie Foran stoops to head the ball past Ben Williams. The Irishman suffered a blow to the face for his troubles. Ouch!

  152. 1634:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Former Scotland winger Gary Teale blazes the ball over the St Johnstone crossbar after the ball fell kindly to him 15 yards from goal and completely unmarked. But it seems like only a matter of time before St Mirren's two man advantage tells."

  153. 1636:

The Dons are pressing for a way back into the match, and youngster Jamie Masson has just blazes an effort over. It remains 2-0 to Hearts but Craig Broon's men have a spring in their step as they look to reduce the deficit with a little over 10 minutes to go...

  154. 1638:
GOAL- MOTHERWELL 3-2 ROSS COUNTY (LASLEY)

We might have a winner at Fir Park as Motherwell's captain Keith Lasley tucks the ball home from the edge of the box.

  155. 1640:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"Magic feet John McGinn weaves his way into the St Johnstone penalty box, ,but the teenager sends his low drive off the outside of the far post."

  156. 1643:
GOAL- INVERNESS CT 3-0 HIBS (McKAY)

Inverness make second place in the table secure with a Billy McKay header. The SPL's player of the month for November gets on the end of Aaron Doran's beautifully weighted cross over Paul Hanlon and heads past Ben Williams.

  157. 1645:

St Johnstone defender Frazer Wright clears a Steven Thompson header off the line as St Mirren lay siege.

  158. 1647:

Chris Humphrey has tormented Marc Fitzpatrick all afternoon and if Motherwell do end up winning, it will owe a lot to the winger's performance.

  159. 1649:
    FULL-TIME- INVERNESS CT 3-0 HIBS
  160. 1650:
    FULL-TIME- MOTHERWELL 3-2 ROSS COUNTY

A late surge by County at a corner and what a save by Lee Hollis to block Scott Boyd's header before Colin McMenamin fires into the side netting. The Steelmen secure maximum points in a five-goal thriller thanks to Keith Lasley's strike but Ross County contributed much to this game. Great entertainment.

  161. 1652:
    FULL-TIME- HEARTS 2-0 ABERDEEN
  162. 1653:
FULL-TIME- ST MIRREN 1-1 ST JOHNSTONE
  163. 1654:

John, Aberdeen: "League is finally beginning to take shape. As expected Celtic build a gap, while everyone else takes points of each other & Hibs & Aberdeen continue to slide."

Neil Sinclair, Orkney: "Not surprised Hibs lost today. They only play against Hearts, Celtic and latterly Rangers. Look at the stats against those three and you will see it's true."

  164. 1655:
BBC Scotland's Clive Lindsay at St Mirren Park

"St Johnstone survive a second-half pounding to secure a point after a magnificent rearguard effort from their nine men and some wayward St Mirren finishing."

  165. 1657:

Embo Fisher: "Caley are on fire at the moment! Dundee United next then Dundee, St Mirren, St Johnstone and County. I see 15 points out of 15!"

  166. 1700:

Rob, London: "Re 16:54 - Hibs only play against Hearts?? Until last week's fluked 1-0 they had lost 12 in a row! Including the 5-1 Cup final!"

  167. 1702:

Scott Ponton in Edinburgh: "Don't feel like I can celebrate that Caley win in front of the rest of the Hibs supporting family!!! Bring on the Staggies on midweek!!"

  168.
    Inverness CT boss Terry Butcher

"We felt that if we could score the second goal then the game would be over.

"It gives us a nice feeling, we're unbeaten this month and second in the table.

"We enjoy being up there and the boys are relaxed about it: we aim to stay there."
