The Dragons earn a bonus-point win in the first of their back-to-back games against Bordeaux-Begles to go top in Pool 2 of the Amlin Challenge Cup.
The home side ran in five tries by Matthew Pewtner and Hallam Amos, Patrick Leach, Toby Faletau and Ashley Smith at Rodney Parade.
Fly-half Jason Tovey kicked a personal haul of 15 points with the boot.
Prop Jefferson Poirot and Jean Baptiste Mamotte crossed for tries for Bordeaux, who were also awarded a penalty try.
The Dragons, who welcomed back captain Andrew Coombs from injury, secured a vital victory to keep the pressure on unbeaten Bath, who play Italian part-times Rugby Mogliano on Saturday.
Bordeaux-Begles, who are currently 10th in France's Top 14, will host the Welsh side at home next weekend.
