Danny Wilson stays as Wales Under-20s head coach

The Welsh Rugby Union have confirmed Danny Wilson will continue in his role as Wales Under-20s head coach.

Wilson, who is also forwards coach with the Scarlets, succeeded Richard Webster in January.

"Danny Wilson did a great job at the Junior World Championship last summer," said WRU National Academy coaching manager Allan Lewis.

Lewis will continue as Wales Under-18s head coach with Paul John remaining in charge of Wales Sevens.

Rhys Edwards will again be head coach of Wales Women, with Sophie Bennett as team manager.

During Wilson's first season in charge of the Under-20s, Wales finished third at the IRB Junior World Championships in South Africa in June.

During the tournament his side inflicted the first defeat on New Zealand's Baby Blacks for four years.

"A fair few players from last season's successful squad could still be involved this season so we have a good platform to build on," Wilson said.

"We will aim to improve on last year's Six Nations performances while keeping player development at front of mind.

"There is a good relationship between the WRU and the Regions and the communication regarding the players' development needs is a real positive.

"It is all geared towards the players gaining exposure to this level of rugby and build a bigger pool of high quality players."
