Catt can 'put a marker down' says Lancaster
England head coach Stuart Lancaster says Mike Catt has an opportunity to "put a marker down" after being drafted into Lancaster's backroom team ahead of their tour of South Africa , and hopes he can "bring a lot to our attacking game".
London Irish coach Catt comes in after Wayne Smith rejected a role in order to remain with his family in New Zealand, with Lancaster revealing he will "review the situation" at the end of England's tour which begins on Saturday 9 June .
Lancaster also states Danny Cipriani will need to "earn his stripes" again at Sale before returning to the international set-up, and says the door is not closed on Danny Care after the scrum-half was dropped from the Six Nations squad in January.
