Tom Wood wins Premiership Player of the Season award

Northampton back-row forward Tom Wood has been named the Premiership Player of the Season.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic first season at Franklin's Gardens during which he made his England debut against Wales in the Six Nations.

Wood started in all of England's games in the competition and also helped steer the Saints to a Heineken Cup final and the Premiership play-offs.

Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi was named Discovery of the Season.

Wood's Northampton team-mate Brian Mujati claimed second place in the Player of the Season category and Saracens hooker Schalk Brits was third.
