RFL fines trio for abuse of referees on social media networks
The Rugby Football League has fined York's Tom Carr and Workington's Ewan Dowes and Jamie Thackray for abuse of referees on social media networks.
The trio were found guilty of operational rules breaches relating to criticism of officials, improper conduct and the RFL Respect campaign.
Dowes, 32, has been fined £200 and Carr, 21 was fined £100, although both have 50% of the sum suspended.
Thackray was given a suspended £100 fine for retweeting Dowes' comments.
