Tommy Makinson: St Helens winger signs contract until 2016

Tommy Makinson has signed a new contract with St Helens that will keep him at Langtree Park until 2016.

The 21-year-old made his Saints debut in February 2011 and has scored 25 tries in 46 appearances for the club.

"Tommy is a promising young player who has worked hard and taken his opportunities when they have come along," new Saints coach Nathan Brown told the club website.

"If he continues to work hard, he has a very promising future in the game."

Makinson had one year remaining on his previous deal with the club.

He said: "I'm over the moon to have signed this contract and I'm looking forward to continuing my career and development at Saints.

"I know I still have a lot to learn, but I believe I am at the right place to do that and I am excited about the future."
