Bradford Bulls: Omar Khan takeover ratified by RFL
The takeover of Bradford Bulls by Omar Khan's consortium has been ratified by the Rugby Football League.
The governing body took the decision to switch the club's membership to OK Bulls Ltd after Khan's group bought the club from the administrators in August.
Bradford's membership was suspended in June when they entered administration.
"The board's decision closes the door on much of the uncertainty that has surrounded the Bulls in recent months," RFL director Blake Solly said.
"The club's new owners have co-operated fully with the RFL throughout this necessarily extensive process and we look forward to working with Mr Khan and Mr Sutcliffe in the months and years ahead.
"The decision to grant membership is an important step that will help the board to determine which competition Bradford Bulls will compete in from 2013."
No decision has yet been reached on what division the Bulls will compete in next season but an announcement is expected by the end of the week on how that decision will be reached.
Bradford finished ninth in Super League this season, three points outside the play-offs, having been deducted six points for entering administration.

lets hope the rugby league have the guts to send the money wasting team down to the bottom of the leagues where they belong. let them start up again like bramley had to and celtic had to as well. but all we hear is super league will be rubbish with out bradford bull wasters.. it would make a good curry house plenty of room ,

Typical BBC website no mention of last nights game in the Championship. They should not call this website BBC Rugby League, but BBC Super League. Come on BBC get your fingers out.

I agree the RFL need to make a stand, but the 6 point deduction has already cost the Bulls a playoff place which will reduce their revenue anyway. Superleague would be a worse place without Bradford so the RFL need to look at their assessment criteria for the future - and maintain more rigorous checks - to try and ensure that this does not happen again.

I believe Bradford should stay in Superleague. Purely from a commercial point of view it would draw bigger gates than other teams in the lower division. From a fans point of view I think Bradford Bulls will present more of a challenge to play, and whilst it may be nice to rack up cricket scores from time to time, it is more interesting when games are closer.

Why blame the clubs? Who set the criteria?...most clubs have operated for longer than these people have been around, generally successfully Personally I feel the blame lays within the Walls of Red Hall, at the end of the day most people stretch the truth on their cv! Ok the clubs had to ratify but my guess is they were forced into a corner, bring in relegation/promotion & give the clubs some space
