Olympics 2012 Day Five: What you may have missed
BBC Sport rounds up the action you might have missed on Day Five of London 2012.
- CYCLING: Bradley Wiggins won gold in the cycling time trial and fellow Brit Chris Froome claimed bronze. Both praised the support of the crowd.
- ROWING: Helen Glover and Heather Stanning won Britain's first gold at London 2012 in the women's pair.
- SWIMMING: Michael Jamieson won silver in the 200m breaststroke and breaks his own British record.
- FOOTBALL: Great Britain's men secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Uruguay in Cardiff.
- TENNIS: Andy Murray progressed to the quarter-finals after coming back from a set down to beat Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus.
- BADMINTON: Eight women were disqualified from the doubles after being accused of "not using one's best efforts to win".
- SWIMMING: Missy Franklin helped her USA team to gold in the 200m freestyle relay, the team breaking the Olympic record in the process.
- FENCING: Ruben Limardo Gascon won Venezuela's first medal at London 2012 in the men's individual épée.
- TENNIS: World number one Roger Federer went through to the quarter-finals in the singles, but was knocked out of the doubles along with partner Stanislas Wawrinka.
- SWIMMING: America's Nathan Adrian won gold in the men's 100m freestyle by 0.01 seconds, ahead of Australia's world champion James Magnussen.
- ROWING: Forty-year-old Greg Searle, who won gold in 1992 and bronze in 1996, helped the Great Britain's men's eight secure a bronze medal.
