Olympic judo: South Korea's Kim Jae-Bum wins men's -81kg gold

South Korea's Kim Jae-Bum avenged his 2008 Olympic final defeat to German judoka Ole Bischof with a comprehensive victory in the men's -81kg division.

Four years after that rare defeat, Kim can now add Olympic gold to his Beijing silver and two world titles.

The two bronze medals on offer were claimed by Russian Ivan Nifontov and Canada's Antoine Valois-Fortier.

Valois-Fortier had earlier beaten Great Britain's Euan Burton, 33, by ippon in the second round.

Kim, 27, was in charge of the final from the outset, pinning Bischof's ankle twice to score easy yukos.

He then controlled the bout from the middle of the mat, repeatedly forcing his 32-year-old opponent on to the defensive.

This was Canada's first Olympic judo medal since 2000, whereas the Russian team has already secured two golds on the London 2012 mat.
