Olympics table tennis: Japan beat Singapore into women's team final
Japan beat Singapore in three matches to reach the final of the Olympic women's team table tennis event.
The Japanese trio of Kasumi Ishikawa, Ai Fukuhara and Sayaka Hirano saw off the Singapore side of Feng Tianwei , Yuegu Wang and Jiawei Li with ease to reach Tuesday's final.
In the men's team quarter-finals Hong Kong caused a shock by defeating medal prospects Japan in five matches.
China, South Korea and Germany are all through to Monday's last four ties.
The second women's team semi-final between China and South Korea also takes place on Monday.
