ARCHERY

The men's team ( Simon Terry, Larry Godfrey and Allan Wills ) are out of the team archery event after a 223-212 defeat by Ukraine.

BADMINTON

Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier lose 14-21 21-9 21-18 to Russia's Alexandr Nikolaenko and Valeria Sorokina.

British number one Susan Egelstaff leads Group H after beating Slovenia's Maja Tvrdy 21-15 21-10.

BASKETBALL

The women are beaten 74-58 by Australia in their opening match.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

The men's team of John Garcia-Thompson and Steven Grotowski lose 21-19 21-13 to Canada's Josh Binstock and Martin Reader in Pool F.

BOXING

Middleweight boxer Anthony Ogogo beats Junior Castillo Martinez of the Dominican Republic 13-6 and is into the last 16.

CYCLING

Mark Cavendish finishes outside the medals with a time of five hours 43.37 seconds in the road race, despite the efforts of team-mates Chris Froome , David Millar , Ian Stannard and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins .

EQUESTRIAN

Mary King is ranked third in individual eventing after the dressage, having received 40.90 penalty points on Imperial Cavalier.

Nicola Wilson receives 51.70 penalty points on Operation Buzz and is ranked 16th after the dressage.

FENCING

Sophie Troiano's Olympic bid in the individual foil is over as she is beaten 12-9 by GB team-mate Natalia Sheppard in the round of 64.

Anna Bentley loses 10-9 against her Canadian opponent Monica Peterson and is out. Results

FOOTBALL

Casey Stoney , Jill Scott and Stephanie Houghton score in a 3-0 defeat of Cameroon as the women seal their place in the quarter-finals.

GYMNASTICS

The men qualify in third for Monday's team final and secure five places in individual finals.

Louis Smith will challenge for pommel horse gold after scoring 15.800 in a superb qualifying routine.

HANDBALL

The women lose their opening game against Montenegro after a 31-19 defeat.

JUDO

Ashley McKenzie goes out of the Men's -60kg judo , losing to Japan's Hiroaki Hiraoka.

ROWING

Alan Campbell eases his way into the men's single sculls quarter-finals in a time of 06:47.62.

Helen Glover and Heather Stanning reach the final of the women's pair and set a new Olympic record of six minutes 57.29 seconds in the process, after comfortably winning their qualifying heat.

The women's quadruple scull of Debbie Flood , Frances Houghton , Beth Rodford and Melanie Wilson must contest the repechage ( 6:20.71 ) after being pipped for third by New Zealand.

The men's lightweight four ( Chris Bartley , Peter Chambers , Richard Chambers and Rob Williams ) win their heat in a time of 5:49.29 to reach the semi-final.

The men's eight go into the repechage after finishing second ( 5:27.61 ) behind Germany in their heat.

George Nash and Will Satch qualify for the semi-final with victory in 6:00.06.

The men's quadruple scull Charles Cousins , Stephen Rowbotham , Tom Solesbury and Matthew Wells qualify for the semi-finals in a time of 5:41.75.

Bill Lucas and Sam Townsend take second place ( 6:11.94 ) behind New Zealand in the men's double sculls.

SHOOTING

Jennifer McIntosh misses out on a place in the women's 10m air rifle final with a score of 392 out of 400.

SWIMMING

Craig Benson finishes sixth in the 100m breaststroke semi-final in a time of 1:00.13 but misses out on a place in the final.

David Carry is seventh in the final of the 400m freestyle with a time of 3:48.62.

Ellen Gandy records a time of 57.66secs in the 100m butterfly semi-final to go through to the final.

Fran Halsall finishes seventh in her semi-final in the same discipline in 58.52.

The women's 4x100 freestyle team finish fifth in the relay final in a time of 3:37.02.

Michael Jamieson finishes third in the 100m breaststroke semi-final with a time of 59.89 but misses out on a place in the final.

Hannah Miley finishes fifth in the 400m individual medley final in 4:34.17.

Roberto Pavoni finishes fourth ( 4:15.56 ) behind Michael Phelps in his 400m individual medley heat.

Robbie Renwick is second in his 400m freestyle heat, but his time of 3:47.44 might not be enough to progress.

TABLE TENNIS

Paul Drinkhall beats his Kuwaiti opponent Ibrahem Al Hasan 11-9 12-10 11-9 11-4 to reach the second round.

Joanna Parker is also through to the second round after overcoming Brazilian Caroline Kumahara 11-7 11-5 11-9 11-5.

TENNIS

Andy and Jamie Murray suffer a first-round exit in the men's doubles, losing 5-7 7-6 (8-6) 7-5 to Austria's Jurgen Melzer and Alexander Peya.

Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins are out , losing 7-5 6-3 to Frenchmen Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet.

Laura Robson and Heather Watson suffer defeat in the first round of the women's doubles going down 6-1 4-6 3-6 to Germany's Angelique Kerber and Sabine Lisicki.

Elena Baltacha goes through to the second round of the women's singles, beating Hungarian Agnes Szavay 6-3 6-3.

Anne Keothavong is out of the women's tennis tournament after losing 6-4 3-6 2-6 to Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki.
