Ashley McKenzie loses in round one at the World Masters

Britain's Ashley McKenzie lost in the opening round of the International Judo Federation World Masters in Tyumen, Russia.

The 2013 European bronze medallist went out to home fighter Beslan Mundranov, last year's European champion.

McKenzie, 23, who lost in round one in the 2012 Olympics, was thrown for an ippon in the under-60kgs pool match.

"Ashley made a mistake from a ne-waza (groundwork) situation, but will learn from it," tweeted coach Luke Preston.
