Stratford meeting called off because of waterlogged course
Monday's meeting at Stratford has been abandoned because of a waterlogged course.
The meeting attracts good attendances as it takes place the day before the start of the Cheltenham Festival, 30 miles from the Gloucestershire course.
But heavy rain has forced clerk of the course Stephen Lambert to call off Monday's card.
"We've had persistent rain on ground that was already very tender. It's a great shame," Lambert said.
"This is always a good meeting for us."
Several jockeys riding at Cheltenham are now likely to be rerouted to another jump racing fixture on Monday with action taking place at both Plumpton and Taunton.
