At last the finale, the last climb and the most important part of the stage.

According to the leaders of the Tour, the stage will start here.

There will only be a handful of guys left at the base of La Plagne, and these select few will fight out stage honours.

Although the climb up to La Plagne only rises 1200 metres, the climb itself is 17km long and has an average gradient of 7%.

After already completing 160km - and almost 60km of that uphill - the legs will be tired and everyone will be feeling the effects.

A stage such as this really is a war of attrition among the leaders.

The riders behind will be scrambling up the mountain pushing just as hard to make the time cut.

Some will make it and live to fight another day and cruelly, some will not.
