The opening day of action in Sydney sees live coverage of Britain's men's hockey team as they set off in pursuit of the gold medal they last won in Seoul in 1988 with a very tough opening pool match against Olympic champions Holland.

Sian Brice and Stephanie Forrester will be chasing a medal in the first ever women's Olympic Triathlon. There is also coverage of the Three-Day Eventing team.

Featuring action from the pool where 1996 Atlanta silver medallist and 1999 European champion Paul Palmer will be chasing gold in the Men's 400m Freestyle. Cyclist Jason Queally will be competing in the Men's 1000m team trial and there is also action from the Women's 500m Time Trial and the Men's individual pursuit semi-finals.

The boxing competition gets underway with action from the early stages of the Bantamweight and Welterweight events, there is Judo with coverage of the finals of the Men's 60kg and Women's 48kg categories, and world, Olympic and European champion Halil Mutlu, from Turkey, is set to be the star of the show in the men's 56kg Weightlifting Final.

There is also action from the Men's qualifying rounds in Gymnastics, plus a look at the Olympic Football tournament.
