INTRODUCTION

Paul Eales is well placed to explain the challenges of links golf.

As the club professional, Eales is based at Royal Lytham and has shot a four-under 67 practice round there (the course record is 64).

He will play in the 2001 Open - but here helps you get to grips with links courses and their terrain as well as the importance of positional play.
